Terms of Service

What this is

PhishGuard is a defensive URL scanner: you paste a suspicious link, we tell you if it looks like phishing or malware. By using the service you agree to these terms.

Acceptable use

You agree NOT to:

Service availability

PhishGuard is provided "as is." We aim for high uptime but don't guarantee it. Phishing detection is best-effort — we use Google Safe Browsing, VirusTotal, URLhaus, AI analysis, and other public sources, but no scanner catches everything. Always exercise judgment.

Verdicts are not legal opinions

A "phishing" verdict from PhishGuard is our best-effort technical assessment. It is not a defamation claim, takedown notice, or legal accusation against the site owner. We do not warrant the accuracy of any individual verdict.

Paid plans

API keys

You're responsible for keeping your API keys secret. We can't recover lost keys — only revoke + reissue. Any usage from your key counts toward your quota even if the key was stolen, so rotate immediately if compromised.

Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, PhishGuard's total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Changes

We may update these terms. For material changes (e.g. pricing) we'll email account holders 14 days before they take effect.
